Andrés Velasco is an economist from the Universidad Javeriana, with postgraduate degrees in economics from the Universidad Javeriana and Oxford. He is currently a professor at the Universidad de los Andes. He has also been a professor and instructor of macroeconomics at the Universidad Rosario, Javeriana, Oxford, and Sabana. His professional career in Colombia includes serving as Technical Director of the Autonomous Committee of the Fiscal Rule; Technical Vice Minister of Finance; and Director General of Macroeconomic Policy at the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit.
