Jaime de la Barra is Partner, Director, and Global Head of IP&S at Vinci Compass and one of the founding partners of Compass. Between 2010 and 2024, he served as Executive Vice President of Compass Group Holdings and Chief Investment Strategist of the company. Before founding the firm, from 1992 to 1996, he created and led the Investment Research division at Grupo Santander in Chile, and prior to that, from 1985 to 1989, he was part of the investment banking team at Citicorp in Chile.

Jaime was a member of the Capital Markets Advisory Council of the Chilean Ministry of Finance from 2006 to 2021. He served as a board member of Icare and was Chair of its Economics and Finance Circle from 2015 to 2023. He is also a member of the advisory board of Endeavor-Chile.

He taught capital markets and financial institutions at Universidad de los Andes and currently serves on the Latin America Executive Board of The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is also a founding partner and former president of InBest, as well as a co-founder and former president of the Chilean Association of Investment Fund Managers.
