Economist from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), with postgraduate studies at Yale University and Tilburg University. He has over 25 years of specialized experience in pension systems. He regularly collaborates with multilateral organizations and has held senior positions in pension funds across Latin America and Europe. He has published extensively on the design, reform, and sustainability of pension systems, as well as on industrial organization, regulation, and investments.
He is currently a founding partner of Nuovalo Ltd., a company focused on technological solutions for managing longevity risk. He also serves as the regional coordinator for the Inter-American Development Bank’s (IDB) project “Boosting the Development of the Thematic Bond Capital Market in Latin America.”
He is a member of the International Academic Council of the Mercer-CFA Global Pension Index and a Salzburg Global Fellow. He has participated in various global initiatives, including the “Future of Work & Data Science” project led by New York University (NYU), Schmidt Futures, and the Bertelsmann Foundation, as well as the World Pension Summit. His career also includes teaching roles at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC), Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez (UAI), and ITAM.
