María Teresa Vial holds a degree in Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, a diploma in Negotiation from the same university, a Master's degree in Business Law from the University of the Andes, and training in ESG for directors.

She began her career at Prieto y Cía., where she worked for almost 15 years, and then served as a member of the Board of Directors at the Arbitration and Mediation Center of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce (CAM Santiago) for two and a half years. In 2020, she became a partner at the firm "Gandarillas, Montt, Del Río," specializing in conflict resolution, and joined the Board of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce (CCS), later becoming a director. In July 2021, she became the first female president of the CCS in its 102-year history.

She was a director of Enel Generación Chile (2021-2024) and has been a director of Enel Chile since May 2024. In 2022, she chaired the UNCAC Chile Anti-Corruption Alliance until 2023 and received the "Exceptional Women of Excellence" award from the Women Economic Forum Chile. She was also recognized in El Mercurio's "100 Leading Women" ranking in 2022 and 2024 for her inclusive leadership, her work against informality, and her promotion of public-private collaboration. In 2024, she was recognized among the 100 most innovative leaders by CEOs Change Makers Chile.
