He holds a degree in Business and a Bachelor’s in Management Sciences from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and a Master’s in Business Administration from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. He has served as Chile’s Superintendent of Pensions since 2016.
Previously, he was the Insurance Superintendent at the Superintendency of Securities and Insurance (SVS) from 2003 to 2016. Prior to that, he headed the Research Division (1994–2003) and the Financial Analysis and Control Division (1990–1994) at the former Superintendency of Pension Fund Administrators (AFP).
